Amerzone - The explorer's Legacy - The Altar Puzzle

In the church of Puebla, a huge altarpiece stands out among the dusty pews and cobwebs. It seems to hold a secret, as suggested by a Gustave Doré painting and a bible, also present in this pious atmosphere.

An astonishing Bible lies nearby, with a locking mechanism that's simple to open, but with a few words inviting us into a more devious enigma. As we turn the pages, we see a key and the message “Follow the eyes of Jesus” ...

There are a total of 4 angels that each point a direction with their arms. Each angel is accompanied by bronze nails, more or less numerous and arranged in different ways; it is a code to decipher.

In the center of the altarpiece is a tabernacle that must be opened to continue the Eucharist. Inside, a simple chest whose opening depends on a series of 4 numbers and... a letter. Unlocking the chest using the combination reveals a curious treasure...
