Syberia - The World Before - Architecture of Vaghen, Osthertahl

This is the very first research on Vaghen's architecture. We first looked quickly for simple forms based on our Art Nouveau references.

There was a big work on the "modularity" of the buildings. We don't have the ressources to make AAA games so the idea was to find a solution to make a lot of diversity with little means.

Here are a lot of stores you can find in Vaghen, especially in 1937. If Benoit comes from Brussels, I come from Nancy so we mixed our respective memories on art nouveau. One of these stores is a nod to the Malard pharmacy.

This sketch is the first version of the pension facade of the Dombre, which is one of my biggest projects and a place dear to my memories. I would love to spend a night or two there too!

I don't know if you know it, but Benoit's first sketch for Syberia TWB was a drawing of the Bridge of Mists, I hope you'll see it one day. Finally, the studies of the paddle wheel system were not deepened.

The first plans of a vagheran house. At that time we decided to make houses with a deep look but with a narrow façade, like many Brussels houses.

This work was based on a study of the Autrique house in Brussels. If you pass by there one day, you absolutely have to visit it!
